2017 was an interesting deal year. Europe was on sale especially the 2nd half of the year where there were $400ish fares to Spain, France, Netherlands, Germany, Italy and Belgium showed up with regularity. Asia, due to the enhanced competition from mainland Chinese airlines, saw numerous $400ish sales too. Additionally, there were numerous sales to Australia and New Zealand for about $700. One thing we missed this year was the lack of sales to Brazil – as the Brazilian economy recovers, we probably will not see the sub $500 fares from the U.S. that we saw in 2015 and 2016.

We expect prices to Europe to remain more or less the same as European low-cost carriers (i.e. Norwegian, WOW, Level and Primera Air) continue to expand deeper into the United States. Prices to Asia in 2018 should remain the same as 2017.
