LAN – $473: New York / Miami – Iguazu Falls, Brazil. Roundtrip, including all Taxes

Did you miss the sale to Iguazu Falls last week? If you did and you are in New York and Miami, you still can get on it. Unlike last week’s sale, this one is more limited. Two major differences are:

  1. The sale last week was good for travel until July. This one is only good to the end of March
  2. The sale last week was good also from Los Angeles whereas this one is only good from New York and Miami.

  • Within South America: Various – B, Y, S etc

Routing:

  • JFK – LIM (Lima) – IGU (Iguazu Falls) – LIM- JFK

Stopover:

Mileage:

  • 10,778 miles or 4.4 cents per mile. LAN is a member of the Oneworld Alliance and American partner. This fare will earn 100% mileage with American. However, because this is an O fare and the Intra-South American segments are not, American will credit the intra-South American segments at 25%. We had luck with getting those segment manually posted at 100% through AAdvantage Customer Care. But your mileage may vary.

    How did you get the AA Miles to count at 100%? Did you call before the flight or after?

    The Flight Deal 9 years ago Reply

    @AC – after.

    Has anyone been able to find a stopover in Brazil?

    Also, I am in the same boat with the 25% of mileage. What did you say when you called in?

    The Flight Deal 9 years ago Reply

    @Nick – when we did last time (on a MEX-EZE deal with LAN), we booked it on AA.com which shows the booking class per segment. When it was posted as 25%, we filed a missing credit request. Then call it in with the supporting doc.
