Delta will be revenue based mileage earning starting January 1st, 2015. Miles will be earn base on elite qualifying dollars multiple by 5 as base level earning and up to 13 for Diamond level members who purchase with a Delta co-branded American Express credit card. We will be showing the 2015 base mileage earning for all Delta fares going forward to show how negative the changes are for a majority of Delta flyers.

  • 2014: 5,096 miles or 5.8 cents per mile.
  • 2015: 1,145 miles or a difference of 3,951 miles.

    I live in ATL. What happens if one skips the final leg on the return trip? Say STT-ATL-BOS… What happens if you skip the first leg and fly directly to JFK instead (i.e. one “misses” the first-leg flight, but still want to fly out from the connecting fly? Would skipping the first leg void the entire itin per terms of carriage? Don’t they already get your $ for the first leg already?

      @Cmoz – if you miss the last segment, your entire itinerary would be cancelled. You can miss the final leg of the itin, but only if you don’t check your luggage. You luggage would go all the way to your final destination.
