Alitalia is running their 15% off sale again! This is a great opportunity to use this to book some good deals to Europe or a great deal on Delta for domestic flights.

Here are two examples –

  1. New York to Rome for October travel

$950, or a $167 savings, is not bad!

But a greater savings opportunity is booking a domestic Delta flight via the Alitalia site. You can use this for all Delta flights. Here’s what we found for New York to Los Angeles for October travel. [Update 9/21/2012 – MickeyBoggs on Twitter has reported to us that not all domestic cities are available, check yours to see if it works]

$269. Not bad for nonstop service between New York and Los Angeles.

We compared the prices against pricing from ITA Software to make sure they are the same. Here’s what ITA Software found for the New York – Los Angeles flight.

$318. Exactly what Alitalia’s prices were before the discount.

[Update 9/23/2012 @ 1AM Eastern – there have been reports of difficulty booking. On FlyerTalk, they recommend using the multi-city function to enter each segment individually to get the coupon to work. More information can be found on FlyerTalk]

Terms of the offer:

  • Book between noon, September 21st and noon, September 24th, 2012
  • Travel between October 1st, 2012 and March 31st, 2013
  • Must book on Alitalia.com
  • Promo code: WEEK15us
  • More information on 15% off from Alitalia Promotion

This can be a good offer — but as always, check with ITA Software or Kayak to make sure that even after the discount, the fare is the best price available.

It’s impossible to get a ticket. Have tried for two days & when it goes to the payment page it takes you straight back to the itinerary page. It’s rediculous. I don’t know anyone who’s been trying to get tickets being sucessful.

@Sharon – yes, there’s been a lot of reports on how bad the Alitalia website is and the inability to use the coupon.
