A good sale  for nonstop service to Barcelona or Madrid. These fares are BASIC ECONOMY / ECONOMY LIGHT fares. The gap between Basic Economy and Regular Economy is very big (at least $180 — so it doesn’t really make sense to buy regular economy). We don’t normally post Basic Economy only deals, but these are really cheap.

• Barcelona [BCN] – $307

If you are planning to take advantage of these fares, understand the restrictions below:

American / British Airways / Finnair / Iberia Basic Economy / Economy Light fares DO NOT:

• Allow for advance seat assignment
• Include checked bags – they are $60 each way
• Allow for changes
• Allow for cancellations – so if you cancel after the 24 hour risk free period, the Basic Economy version will have no value for future purchase
• Most online travel agencies are not properly displaying these fares with American / British Airways / Finnair / Iberia as BASIC ECONOMY

If you fly on American operated flights, on Basic Economy fares, you do get normal size carry-on for free.

If you have elite status with any Oneworld airline (e.g., American, British Airways etc), we would recommend you buy this via Iberia for Iberia operated flights (it will require a connection for Barcelona and Paris). Oneworld elites on Iberia are entitled advance seat assignment, and checked bag for free. So find availability for American, and use those same exact dates on Iberia. You can hold for free for 24 hours on Iberia.
