TAP has a good open jaw fare for Fall and Winter travel from New York, Boston, Miami. An open jaw is where you start in one city and return to another. To get this price, you would go from New York to Libson for example on the outbound and the return, you would do Lisbon to Toronto or Montreal. On some itineraries, you can hop off in NY, Boston or Miami. Since all US bound passengers need to clear immigration / customs at the first port of entry, if it happens that the return flight is to your departure city, you can go home.
If not, you can either use miles or buy an one-way from Canada to your city.
Boston and New York are the cheapest from about $340 while the lowest we found from Miami was about $500.
European destinations possibilities include:
- Lisbon, Portugal [LIS]
- Porto, Portugal [OPO]
- Barcelona, Spain [BCN]
- Milan, Italy [MXP]
Price will vary depending on destination.

Hi! I can’t find any of these deals in September – any idea which itineraries would work in September? Thanks!
@Cayleigh – here’s a quick one for September:
September 14th: NYC – Lisbon
September 21st: Lisbon – Toronto
successfully booked BOS-LIS, LIS-YYZ (connecting in Boston) for 12/26-1/4 .Thanks for the tip! Received etkt number.
trying to search dates on ITA Matrix cant seem to figure out how to do it on this promo.
wanting to fly in December because thats when im free. anyone with any advise??????????
@Dave – this is not ita-able. you need to plug in dates using the format we describe to price. you might need to try a few date combos
Thats quite a mission. :/
Ok thank you. I will try.
I got it down to $334.96 roundtrip.
12/25: JFK – LIS
1/1: LIS – YYZ
Deal works as a multi-city itinerary. For example, found $346 to fly:
1) BOS – LIS
2) LIS – BOS
3) BOS – YYZ
So basically you can RT to Europe from the USA and then take a vacation to Canada (though you’d need to separately get a ticket back home from Canada)… all for under $400. That is a great sale from TAP.
I ended up landing a ticket at $345
