    Why would the N fares only earn 50% from what I can tell it should earn 100% when crediting to mileage plus.

      @ Brian: N fares earn nothing when crediting to United in this instance. Look at the (**) next to the N,GP,E,A fares.

      Below that is the fine print: ** Flights within Canada and between Canada and the continental U.S. (including Hawaii) for the listed purchased fare classes are not eligible for mileage accrual.

      This means the segments between the US and Canada are zero. N, P, G, E, A fares would only credit 100% when it is Canada -> rest of the world excluding the conditions above.
