Business Class – American/LAN: New York – Chile. About $900. Roundtrip, including all Taxes

How is this different than the New York – Santiago de Chile deal that we posted on Friday? Well, we’ve been digging around and the deal is pretty much available to every city that LAN services in Chile. What does that mean?

How about Torres del Paine in Patagonia? We’ve always wanted to go there.

Or, how about Salar de Atacama?

It’s full of possibilities, but inventory is disappearing fast!

[Update 2/17/2013 @ 6:30PM Eastern – the segments from Santiago de Chile to elsewhere will be in Coach]

Sample Travel Date:

  • Sample to Punta Arenas or the airport closest to Torres del Paine
  • April 30th – May 8th

Fare Availability:

  • Valid for travel from April 1st – June 12th for Monday through Thursday departures. Use ITA Software Matrix Airfare Search and flexible month search to see availability — enable advanced routing codes and enter “/alliance oneworld” on both the outbound and return fields to search only American / LAN availability. Also on the “Cabin” drop down, make sure you select “Business Class or higher.” Must purchase by February 26th
  • We recommend that you buy an open jaw — e.g., New York – Santiago de Chile // Puenta Arenas – New York and use Skyscanner.net to find cheap in-country flights. This would allow you to see more of the country. You would have to do multiple searches to see how availability is — e.g, do a search for New York – Santiago to see what availability is like and then New York – Puenta Arenas to what it is like. Then go to AA.COM and use the multi-city functionality to book.

Routing:

  • LGA – MIA (Miami) – SCL (Santiago de Chile) – PMC (Puerto Montt) – PUQ (Puenta Arenas) – SCL – DFW (Dallas) – LGA

Mileage:

  • 14,201 miles or 6.5 cents per mile. LAN is a partner with American, so this would earn 100% mileage. Since most of this is business class, you will earn 25% bonus for the LGA-MIA-SCL // SCL-DFW-LGA segments or 17,069 miles. Collect those miles; this is enough for a domestic one way ticket.

$929 to Torres del Paine is a steal in any class of service, but in Business? RIDIC!
