American Airlines is celebrating 70 years of service to Mexico with a double miles promotion for any of the routes they fly to Mexico.

The terms of the promotion are:

  • Travel between September 4th and November 13th
  • Only American and American Eagle flights are eligible for the double miles; codeshares are not.
  • Only segments to Mexico are eligible for double miles. For example, if you fly New York – Dallas – Mexico City, only the Dallas – Mexico City segment would be eligible for double miles.
  • Must register prior to travel
  • Promo Code: MX70A

To register, go to American Airlines Mexico 70 Years Serving Mexico Promo Site.

This is definitely a good promotion if you intend to travel to Mexico. If you flew New York – Cancun roundtrip nonstop, what would be 3,109 miles would instead be 6,218 miles in your account, bringing you that much closer to free travel.
