Taking advantage of the low United fares to Asia from Friday, you can use an open jaw and get the fare below $400. An open jaw is entering one city and leaving from another. So fly into Ho Chi Minh City or Jakarta and make your own way to return from Bangkok. The good thing about these fares is that one-way fares within Southeast Asia are cheap—flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Bangkok are under $60 with AirAsia right now. But, if you use a low cost carrier, be mindful of their fees.
