What is the Real Time Newsletter Service?

When we first launched The Flight Deal in August of 2011, the primary method used to share deals with our readers was through Facebook, Twitter, and our free newsletter.

Over time, the ability to reach our readers with those channels has degraded because of algorithmic changes. For example, if you follow us on Facebook, you may not see the deals we share every day because they prioritize pages that boost posts by paying for it.

If you subscribe to our free newsletter, you would get it daily around 3 p.m. Eastern, but the consistent feedback received from our readers is a wish to see deals only for their city and not an aggregation of all the new economy deals we found since the last newsletter. It can be unwieldy to scroll through the minimum of fifteen deals that are included every day. In addition to the number of deals, subscribers also tell us that they have miss deals that were pulled by the airlines before the newsletter is received..

In January 2020, in response to the feedback, we launched a paid newsletter service called Real Time Newsletter. It allows subscribers to select one of our coverage cities and have all economy deals for those cities delivered directly to their email box for about 5 cents a day or $20 a year.
