Earn More Miles by Double Dipping with Dining Rewards Programs

An easy way to rack up extra miles and points is to register with one of the many dining programs. It’s simple —register with your credit card at the program and when you dine at a qualifying restaurant in the Rewards Network program, you’ll automatically earn points on your spend. These points would be in addition to whatever you would normally earn from your credit card  — a double dip.

For instance use the Chase Sapphire Reserve to earn 3x points on dining worldwide. Pair it with the Mileage Plus Dining Program. VIP members earn 5 miles per dollar if you have 12 or more qualified transactions in a calendar year and opt in for email notifications. Online members earn 3 miles per dollar by just opting into receive email. 

Use the Hilton Honors™ Card from American Express to earn 5x points earn at US Restaurants (not bad for a no annual fee card). Pair it with the Hilton Honors Dining program to earn 8 bonus points per $1 when you dine 11 or more times in a year, and opt in for email notifications. Earn 5 bonus points per $1 when you dine 10 or less times in a year, and opt in for email notifications

No, you can’t earn from more than one dining program at the same time. Rewards Network administers all the major dining programs so they can prevent this from happening. When you register your credit card with a program it’ll automatically unregister it from any other program.

These simple ways to earn extra miles are no-brainers. Why wouldn’t you want to earn extra points for the things you already spend your money on?

    United has the best support for their dinning/shopping portal. With the app that is on your phone, almost wherever you go, you buy a gift card to the establishment that you will use and you are credited with miles sometimes up to 10x.

    United’s is by far the most easiest to use.
