    THANK YOU!
I went through the process for myself. Then clicked on the link you provided again, clicked on the Register Now button, and this popped up. “You’ve earned 1,000 bonus miles. Now enter for your chance to win two First Class round-trip tickets to anywhere American Airlines flies.” and logged into my daughter’s account.

    Let’s hope it’s that easy.

I received the question: “Most people redeem their points for:” and the answer was “flights”.

  • Firewind 9 years ago Reply

Tip: Do not register before reaching 1,000 points. You’re given the opportunity. Don’t “bite” early. I did at 450 points, and received the Thank You etc. panel. I was down the hall and out the door, so to speak. No possibility of going further. Hm.

I hear the chorus: “Everybody knows that.” But if this can save someone…

You can accually go back in through the link, it keeps your 450 miles on and you can keep going for the 1000 if you registered, i did and it worked so dont be sad theres still light at the end of the tunnel for you.

Just a bit more: I had previously worked the promo for two family members’ accounts, and while we received the confirmation panel for both, only one received the confirmation email. FWIW, I had cleared cookies, done one in Chrome, one in IE, and they have two different emails.

It will be an interesting test, after all, to see if both get the 1,000 from the first tries, or if the one that didn’t receive the email in the first instance receives 450 … Eight long weeks to find out.

Sorry, a BIT more … The account that didn’t receive the confirming email is one that was recently transferred from USAir Dividend Miles. I wonder if there could be a hangup that’s virtually unrelated to this promo. In other words, the fulfillment might get caught up in the pipeline somewhere?

Got the email to the second – former US – account’s email. So, likely it’ll be the 450. The glass is almost half full: The 550 difference isn’t that big of a deal – as an account expiry extender – until it matters as the last 550 for an award down range.
