As part of the American and US Airways merger, they were required to give up two gates in Dallas – Love Field. Virgin America won those gates and is using them to launch service to San Francisco / Los Angeles / New York (LaGuardia) and DC (DCA). This is the launch fare! Virgin America is new to the Dallas – New York / DC market — so we should see more competitive pricing for them starting October.
