American: Double Status Miles for Travel from Nov 1st – Dec 31st, 2012.

We just saw this on American’s Facebook Wall. American Airlines is running a double miles promotion for it’s AAdvantage frequent flyer program members until the end of the year. The promotion is in three parts:

  • Double status miles from November 1st – December 31st
  • Double redeemable miles from November 16th – November 26th for Thanksgiving travel
  • And for elite status members — double status and redeemable miles for the duration of the entire promotion.

Terms of the Promotion:

  • Valid for travel for any American, American Eagle and Connection flight from November 1st – December 31st, 2012
  • Must register to receive the double elite status and redeemable miles
  • Promo code: AATHX
  • Register at American Airlines Double Miles. Double Thanks site

    I registered for this promotion, then flew to Brazil during the booking window on AA. Not only did I not receive double miles but I never received a single mile credit to my account. I followed up several times in the past few weeks and still have received no response. I got an email from AA saying they were swamped and it may be a while (it had already been 3 weeks) before they could get back to me, and asking if my question still applied. Jerks!
