SeamlessWeb is bad for miles

We are generally big fans of SeamlessWeb — it makes ordering food takeout truly seamless. We do have one gripe about SeamlessWeb — it processes all credit card transactions under their merchant account. Restaurants that participate in mileage dining programs do not know that you have dined with them when you order with SeamlessWeb and as such you will not receive the bonus miles for the takeout meal.

To make sure you get miles that are part of your mileage program’s dining program, just call in your order (we know, it sounds old school that you have to talk to someone to order your food) and give them your credit card number instead of using SeamlessWeb.

If you have not signed up for Dining Programs for Miles (they are free), you should — it’s the easiest way to get miles for things you do anyways. More information here.
