WOW Air, the second largest low cost carrier out of Iceland earlier this year announced service between Reykjavik and United States via Boston and Baltimore. As part of their launch, they had $99 each way fares to Iceland. The Points Guy found that they are back.

There is very limited availability. It’s also available to London – Gatwick for about $205 each way.

And here’s all the reviews on WOW from our friends at Jaunted.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • WOW Air is a low cost carrier — meaning everything is un-bundled. You will pay for everything from seat assignments to luggage
  • Service is from Boston and Baltimore (they are calling it Washington D.C., but Baltimore is not DC)
  • These fares are good to:
    • London – Gatwick [LGW] (for about $205 each way)
    • Reykjavik [KEF]
  • Availability:
    • Boston: Service starts in March.
    • Baltimore: Service starts in June
  • They do not earn miles
  • Availability is not that great — so just play around. Definitely factor in the full cost of things like luggage etc.
  • And per WOW Air’s twitter – they support DOT’s 24 hour risk free cancellation policy. If you need to call them, their US call center is  (+1) 866 512-8364 or email them with URGENT in subject to [email protected]

How to Book:

  • Go to Google Flights to easily search for availability. We have pre-populated the search from Boston to Reykjavik. Replace it your city. Hit the Bar Graph icon below the return date to view availability by month. Availability between Google Flights and WOW’s website is not perfectly sync’ed. But it is a lot faster than searching +/- 1 day on WOW itself.
  • Save $400 off your next travel purchase after signing up for the Barclaycard Arrival Plus™ World Elite MasterCard®.* Earn 40,000 bonus miles when you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first 90 days - that is enough to redeem for a $400 travel statement credit.
