WOW is finally launching service to the NY area with service to/from Newark this upcoming November. It is introducing this new service is $99 one-way fares. With the introduction of Newark service, WOW will now serve 5 cities in the US (Baltimore, Boston, Los Angeles, Newark, and San Francisco) and 2 in Canada (Montreal and Toronto).

Be mindful of their fees. If you are traveling with anything more than a small backpack that is more than 11 pounds, you should prepay for luggage at $48 per leg or $96 roundtrip. WOW Air WILL CHECK the weight of each bag. So realistically, the cheapest for most travelers is about $300 roundtrip.

This is a great deal. Contrary to their earlier practice, WOW is charging no more for the return than they are for the outbound, so the round-trip cost is really $99 * 2.

My trip to Iceland earlier this month (on WOW) was very enjoyable.
