WOW Air – $278: San Francisco / Los Angeles – Reykjavik, Iceland. Roundtrip, including all Taxes

WOW, the other airline based in Iceland is launching service between Reykjavik and San Francisco or Los Angeles this upcoming June. And they are launching with $139 one way fares.

We found $139 fares in June and September onward. Summer is of course, expensive.

Be mindful of their fees. If you are traveling with anything more than a small backpack that is less than 11 pounds, you should prepay for checked luggage at $67 per leg or $134 roundtrip or carry-on luggage at 11 kilos (~24lbs) at $48 each way or $96 roundtrip. WOW Air WILL CHECK the weight of each bag. So realistically, the cheapest for most travelers is $374 or $412 roundtrip.

Update 1/13/2016 @ 2:55AM Eastern – the introductory fares are all gone.

I’m a little confused as to how you got this price, as I can’t find any date within that sample time range below $269 one way.

@Paul – the price was available when we posted it at 7:50AM Eastern. The introductory fares are probably all sold out.
