Wow, a $100+ price drop from yesterday. United is attacking American fares to Japan with availability for Summer travel. They have been duking it out over Tokyo the last month. We found availability to:

  • Osaka [KIX]
  • Nagoya [NGO]
  • Tokyo [TYO]

Available for travel from the American / US Airways hubs:

  • Philadelphia [PHL]
  • Dallas [DFW]
  • Miami [MIA]
  • Phoenix [PHX]
  • St. Louis [STL] (Yes, for purposes of attack fares, United and Delta still often consider St. Louis an American hub)

    Just curious question. Why is it that from Philadelphia -> Tokyo, its 670$ with a stop in SFO in the middle. But from SFO –> Tokyo on that same date its $1200? But same flight?

    @Natasha — there isn’t nonstop service for every possible city pair. where it connects is irrelevant. pricing has nothing to do with distance.
