New Zealand and Australia are the two hardest deal destinations out there. Air New Zealand also has this for about the same price — however, it is non-mileage earning. Travel is a long game, if you plan on traveling more than once, collect miles. It is the least expensive way to travel.

Here are the three cities in New Zealand we found availability to:

  • Auckland [AKL]
  • Wellington [WLG]
  • Christchurch [CHC]

Fare Availability:

  • Please note that while this fare is valid at time of posting, if this post is more than two days old, the fare is likely gone.

How to Search for Availability:

How do I credit a flight to Alaska? I don’t understand that? If I book on Orbitz, how can I credit it to Alaska instead of Delta?

@James – on checkout, you have an option to enter your Alaska frequent flyer #. its the same drop down as the Delta box. Just remember, on just particular itinerary, you will only earn Alaska miles for Delta operated and coded flights. Meaning, you have to pick Delta flight #16 and #17 between LAX and Sydney. If you pick the Virgin Australia operated, but Delta coded flight between LAX and Sydney, you will not earn miles for that. You will also not earn miles for the Australia -> New Zealand segments when crediting to Alaska.

Thanks. What if I already choose Delta to credit, can it be modified if flight has not yet been completed?
